Thinking of Living in Spain?
Tempted by a better quality of life, thousands
of people relocate and make their home in Spain every year. However,
many of those are totally unprepared for the realities of relocating
to Spain, and beat a hasty retreat back to their home country.
Living in Spain permanently is initally like
going on a long holiday - it is exciting and different - it took
us at least a year before we felt like we were living 'real life'.
However, it can be a lonely experience once you settle in - you
will miss your friends back home, experience problems in the normal
day to day things that came so naturally in your home country, and
at times you may wonder why you made the move at all!
The way of life is totally different - not
only from what you are used to, but also from what you expect -
Spanish people, the food, Spanish culture, and if you are not a
patient person, you may find it frustrating - waiting is definately
the name of the game here. That is all very well for those who have
retired to Spain, but for the working community it can be extremely
frustrating.
Living in Spain is no longer cheap - the
costs are rising - there is high unemployment in some areas, and
unfortunately many foreigners who move here unprepared run into
financial difficulties.
'Moving to Spain' covers just about any aspects of your life
that will change whilst living in Spain permenantly
This e-book is about an expat British family
living in Spain, and offers a wealth of information and advice -
from the problems that can be associated with buying property in
Spain, health and medical issues, schools/education, tax and social
security, working in Spain, running a business, shopping, driving,
water, electicity, telephones, language, NIE numbers, residency,
and general aspects of permanent life.
If you are moving to Spain with children,
how will they feel about attending a Spanish school where the teachers
and other children may not speak their language? The e-book covers
the 18 months my children spent in Spanish School, and their year
in an International school, which will help give you an insight
into schools and education in Spain.
Everything you need to know about living in Spain
It is advisable before moving to Spain to
do as much research as you can - read books, visit the area where
you intend to move to, and speak to people who have already made
the move. Life in Spain is not always the idyllic existence that
people expect, so find out as much as you can beforehand to avoid
some of the pitfalls that I have fallen into.
You will find much practical advice in books
and on the internet, but I would advise talking to people who have
experienced life in Spain for at least two years to get the best
advice.
This E-book enables you to head for the sun and begin your life
in Spain with your eyes wide open!!
